ALVELISSA is a premium handcrafted wood design brand created for people who choose character over the ordinary.
Our work begins with carefully selected solid hardwoods, careful hands, and a respect for natural material. We primarily work with walnut and ash — two woods that define the soul of many ALVELISSA pieces:
- Walnut brings depth, warmth, and rich natural movement.
- Ash brings a lighter contrast, allowing inlay details, lines, forms, initials, and artistic scenes to stand out with quiet elegance.
But ALVELISSA is not limited to a single material formula. When a design calls for a different tone, texture, or character, we remain open to selected premium hardwoods. Some pieces are created by bringing more than one wood together in a single design — not as decoration added afterward, but as a structural part of the piece itself.
Our Crafting Process
- Preparation: The process begins by cutting solid wood materials, matching them by grain and tone, and joining them into a prepared body.
- Shaping: The wood is then carefully worked into form, refined, and leveled.
- Inlay Artistry: Inlay pieces are fitted into place, set into the design, and pressed with patience until the woods become one complete surface.
- Finishing: After the inlay becomes part of the piece, the surface is worked again, refined, sanded, inspected, and finished by hand.
- Protection: For cutting and serving boards, the final surface is completed with natural food-grade mineral oil, allowing the wood to reveal its warmth, depth, and natural beauty while keeping the piece ready for the table.
The Signature of Handmade
We do not make pieces to look identical. Natural grain, tone variation, and small differences are not defects; they are the true signature of handmade work.
From cutting and serving boards to wooden wall art and future custom pieces, ALVELISSA exists to create objects that feel useful, beautiful, and personal.
ALVELISSA is for those who value natural wood, careful craftsmanship, and designs made beyond ordinary.
